BO Explorer: Indexing error
Dears!
I am pretty new with BO Explorer and we have been experiencing for some weeks (over a month) an indexing process issue: it fails to run.
The error message is the following:
Server xxxxxxx generated the following messages:
Index Creation Failed (while trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.datadiscovery.dataprovider.lucene.exploration.result.ILuceneMember.getKey() of a null object loaded from local variable 'member')
The amount of data is quite huge and the number of columns as well. 9 millions of records for 59 facets and 4 Measures.
SAP is unabled to give an answer (this high priority case has been raised 2 weeks ago already and still almost no releavant answer).
We tried to split the data into 2 views and it worked.
Removing some detailed facets works also but it is not a satisfying solution as the customer does want to see all of them at a glance.
I would really appreciate any input which would help to resolve our problem!

SSO & BEx Authorizations in Explorer
Hi All,
We are trying to bring below two things into SAP BO Explorer,
1. SSO
2. BEx Analysis Authorizations
We are able to do both into SAP BO Explorer, but here issue was about Indexing
Eg :
If I do indexing from ID - User 2, I am getting only 1000 Plant data, this view will be correct for User 2, if I open same Explorer View from User 1, he supposed to see all data, but he is getting only 1000 Plant data ( same as user 2).
What I suspect was, there should be User Specific indexing needs to done in SAP BO Explorer?
Kindly correct me if my assumption was wrong, or please provide me is there any alternative solution.

I tried to delete all BO Connections in SM59 and bulilt them new with program RSDRI_DF_CONFIGURE.
I built DF_JCO_SXXXXXXXXXP_1 and DF_JCO_SXXXXXXXXXP_2 due to the fact that i have two DataFederation Services on BO.
I linked them together with the Data Administration Tool, and i added the FQDN from the BW System.
I also changed the mshost parameter in BW to the FQDN.
--> NO Solution...
Normally when you index an InfoSpace the conneciton in SM59 is built up manually... right now, after createing them on my on, this doesn't work anymore. Then i got the error, that the DF_JCO_SXXXXXXXXXP_1 is not reachable and i have to create it on m own.
Any idea?

Unable to delete Explorer Workspace
I have an orphaned workspace in a folder which appears the universe has been deleted for it.
There's no listing in Explorer app to purge the reports out and no option in CMC to purge them and error PS20014 doesn't help.
Any ideas/steps I could take?

Explorer in PROD refuses to Index - works in DEV
Hi everyone. This is stumping me and could use your thoughts on the matter.
We're using a BEX query in PROD to feed a unv to run a Bus Explorer.
After promotion it generates the error below. I attempted to save and export to PROD with same results.
The DEV and PROD universes are both using the BEX query from PROD so no connection changes is needed.
So the BEX is common, the Connection is common. Restarted the Explorer services as well.
Any thoughts on the matter that I'm missing?
Prompt response is very helpful as you can imagine being a production issue.

Error WIS 00013 while creating new information space on .unx universe
Hi All ,
BO Explorer shows error when trying to create new info space on .unx universe.
Able to view the .unx universe, connection is also published as .cnx and associated with the universe.
SAP Business Objects Explorer Error : (BOX is displaying the error )
The Creation of the sata source object failed .

Delete Information Spaces
Can someone tell me how to delete an 'Information Space' object.
I've saved 2 within my favourite folder and I can't find the option to delete them

Missing objects to be promoted
Hi All,
We have encountered an issue with promotion of BO Explorer Information Spaces. We add Information Space to Promotion Job:
Then we click Promote:
And Promotion Manager displays: Objects to be promoted (0). So we can't promote our Information Spaces. Other object types can be promoted successfully. We use BO 4.0 SP11. Any ideas?

The error from the server is: Failed to get dependencies of the job.(PRS 00048)com.businessobjects.framework.dependency.dm.exception.DMException$ExceptionWrapper: A com.businessobjects.sdk.plugin.desktop.infospace.spi.driver.InfoSpaceMigrationException occurred; original exception message getDependees()...
And this problem occurs only for .unx based Information Spaces.

Explorer: Maximum Character Output Size on Indexing

BI 4.1 infospace migration error
Hi everybody,
I was just struggeling with an error with the Explorer Indexing server which gave me "Maximum character output size limit reached. Contact your BusinessObjects administrator. (Error: ERR_WIS_30272)"
As per thread above I was able to fix the problem by increasing the "Binary Stream Maximum Size (MB)" of the WebiProcessingServer.
In the past my understanding of this parameter was that this is limiting the output file size of character files (i.e. csv or txt) for the user. Now I'm learning that this is applying to internal processes as well.
We have kept this parameter quite low, as we don't want users to be able to export a big amount of data to their local PCs for data security reasons.
Is there any way to limit the output file size for users at another place instead?

Explorer installation configuration question
Hello all:
My BI 4.1 SP4 configuration:
Server1: Web Tier (Tomcat)
Server2: CMS.exe (clustered), FRS services, Connection service, Adaptive Processing service
Server3: CMS.exe (clustered), FRS services, Connection service, Adaptive Processing service
Server4: Job services for Crystal Reports
Server5: Job services for Crystal Reports
Server6: Job services for WebI reports
Server7: MS SQL Server for the CMS and Auditing databases
My issue:
I have another server that is to be used for Explorer services only. I know that I don't have to have the BI services on my Explorer server. However, I see a section in the install guide that mentions the "Correct configuration" for the server hosting BI 4.1 needs: CMS, Connection Server, FRS Input, FRS Output and a web application server.
Am I interpreting things correctly by thinking that the web application server has to be installed on exact same machine as my cms.exe server(s)? You can see that myexisting configuration is not set up this way.
I am wanting to keep my web application server processing on a separate server from my other BI servers (note: I am planning on adding a second web application server and have Big IP in front of it).

How to display selected input control in webi report?
Hi Experts,
I have a demand from client to display the selected input control on top of report in webi.
And also display these selected parameters in excel after export of webi report.
I had tried to use ReportFilter(parameter), but it shows all values when no filter applied, which makes it a cluttered display.
I want something which will display only when values in input control are filtered.
Your help is appreciated.

Explorer Missing after promoting unv
I'm new to the Explorer tool. After promoting the unv, the Explorer Workspace isn't appearing when attempting to do an Indexing under Managing Workspaces.
Any thoughts or thoughts what I could have missed? Thanks.

Information Space contains no data
Hi All,
Recently we performed the upgrade of our BI 4.0 system to SP04 Patch 2.
Now it is impossible to index universes in BO Explorer that previously worked fine. We have the message "Indexing failed - The Information Space contains no data".
It is also not possible anymore to log in with an other authentication than Enterprise when we use the direct URL to Explorer (no problem when launching through Launchpad).
Would very much appreciate any suggestions!
